Broder Oetken has handcrafted the 32″ Sol Mobilis Gong using the same hertz frequency we are familiar with from Paiste. Broder describes the frequency and vibration thusly:

126.22 Hz in the note of B3
However, the gong vibrates an octave lower.
126.22 divided by 2 = 63.11 Hz in the note of B2.

Thisgong is characterized by high production quality and its handmade decorative aspects. The surface has been scraped to create star-like beams radiating from the center of the gong outwards to the edges, creating a subtly beautiful effect.It is called “Sol Mobilis” or “Mobile Sun” because unlike the Paiste Sun gong which is 38 inches in diameter, and the Meinl (which Broder also makes) which is 36 inches in diameter, this gong is 32″ and is much easier to transport.

All Oetken gongs are made from NS12 (nickel silver) also known as Alpaka, a material used in German gong making. This is the same metal and from the same sources that Paiste uses to create their high-quality gongs due to its wide-ranging sound and potency.
